Privacy Policy

We built SiteDownRightNow to work without accounts, logins, or tracking. This page explains in plain language what little data we do handle, and what we never do with it. Last updated: October 2026.

What we collect

Outage reports you submit
The issue type you pick, plus the optional city and message you type. Reports are anonymous — we never ask for your name.
Live-check records
When someone taps "Test Now", we store the check result and the requester's IP address. The IP is kept only for rate-limiting and abuse prevention.
Alert emails
If you sign up for outage alerts, we store your email address for one purpose only: sending you those alerts. Unsubscribing removes it.
Contact messages
What you send through our contact form — name, email, and message — so we can read and reply.

Cookies and local storage

We do not set advertising or tracking cookies. The only thing stored on your device is your theme preference (dark or light mode), which lives in your browser's local storage and never leaves it.

What we never do

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or build profiles about you. There are no accounts to leak and no behavioural tracking running in the background.

Data removal

Want something removed — a report, an alert subscription, or a contact message? Send us a message describing it and we will take care of it.
